A veteran of Sikh Regiment of the Indian Army, Brigadier Kuldip Singh Gulia walked 103 kms (more than 1 lakh steps) in Jaipur to commemorate the Infantry Day 2023.
He started his journey early in the morning along with troops of 17 SIKH and 4 Kumaon and civil enthusiasts, who walked along with him at various locations. Starting from Mahadev Nagar, the veteran walked to 17 SIKH Gurudwara (Jaipur Military Station) first. At Prerna Sthal, War Memorial of South Western Command, he paid tribute to valiant soldiers.
Brig Gulia turns 76 on 28 Oct and dedicates walk & life journey to Bharat Mata. Each of his 100 steps represents the brave sacrifice & valour of one of the 1000 soldiers who made up the 1 Sikh Battle Group.
He has earlier explored almost all ridges and forts around Jaipur and Sariska, trekked across all Indian Himalayan state while trekking over 60-70 km in a single day on numerous occasions after turning 70 years old. He has written books and contributed towards a total of 20 volumes of Encyclopaedias including Himalayan Studies and Human Ecology.
