In the follow up recent case, a team of ANTF on the direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime and close guidance of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh and under the supervision of Inspector Satvinder Singh made an another breakthrough by arresting the main drug supplier who procured the drug from Pak based smugglers through Drone. The team comprises of SI Baljeet, SI Sumer Singh, HC Anil, Ct. Ravinder, Ct. Sandeep, Ct. Jashbir, C. Ashok, Sr. C. Sandeep, C. Sumit and C. Narender.
On 15.10.2023police party headed by SI Baljeet Singh was on Crime Control and prevention patrolling duty in the area of Police Station Sector Manimajra, Chandigarh. while police party was on patrolling duty at near Housing Board Light Point, Near Sheetla Mata Mandir, Govindpura, Manimajra, Chandigarh
on suspicion one person was apprehended with the help police personnel and 53.60 Grams Heroinwas recovered from his possession. On questioning he disclosed his name Harpreet Singh @ Happy S/o Sukhwinder Singh R/o Vill-Jaintipur, Tech- Majitha, Distt-Amritsar, Pb. Age 28 yrs.
In this regard a case FIR No. 120 Dt. 15.10.2023 U/s 21 NDPS Act, PS-MM, UT Chandigarh registered against him.
(SUBHEAD)During investigation police remand of accused Harpreet Singh was obtained and he was interrogated thoroughly and his disclosure statement was recorded, in which he disclosed that the name of Amritsar based main drug suppler Ranjeet.
Acting upon the information provided by accused Harpreet Singh, team of ANTF conducted raid in Village DaokeAmritsar, PBin the search of accused Ranjeet and succeeded in arresting main supplier namely Ranjeet Singh @ Rana S/o Sh. Inderjit Singh R/o Vill. Daoke PS-GharindaDistt. Amritsar, aged 28 years on 18.10.2023. After producing before the hon’ble court, 7 days Police remand of accused Ranjeet Singh was obtained.
MODUS OPERANDI: During his interrogation accused disclosed his village is located adjacent to Pak border and a lots of guys of his village are involved in heroin smuggling from Pakistan. One of them he got contact Pak based supplier. For this he made a whatsapp account on a foreign number and started contact with Pak smuggler and by this he came in contact more smugglers namely Irfan, Noor, Imran, Shayada. He sent his location to Pak based smugglers and Noor, one of them sent him a consignment of drug in a plastic bottle of cold drink, which was dropped on the given location through Drone. He later on delivered this consignment to previously arrested accused Harpreet and one Ranjit Singh @ Rana of his village, who was on the run from the first day of main accused arrest but arrested on 24.10.2023.
RECOVERY: 53.60 Grams Heroinrecovered from Harpreet Singh., 106.36 grams’ heroin (net weight) was recovered on his instance from his village Daoke on 20.10.2023, which was taken into police possession., Realme mobile phone having contacts of Pak based smugglers.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Harpreet Singh @ Happy S/o Sukhwinder Singh R/o Vill-Jaintipur, Tech Majitha, Distt-Amritsar, Pb. Age 28 yrs.
Ranjeet Singh @ Rana S/o Sh. Inderjit Singh R/o Vill. Daoke PS-GharindaDistt. Amritsar, aged 28 years.
Accused Ranjeet Singh @ Rana has tainted family back ground, his elder brother Gurpreet has previously been arrested in 3 cases of NDPS Act by Amritsar Police and presently he is in Jail in espionage case as he had supplied information to Pakistan and his father Inderjit Singh had previously arrested with the consignment of RDX and 2 cases of NDPS Act. From his phone record and with the help of other agencies, it is found that a Senior Pakistan Army officer made contact with him by posing him as a drug smuggler and before he got succeeded in getting any information accused Ranjeet Singh was arrested.
Ranjit Singh @ Rana S/o Sh. Satnam Singh r/o Vill. Daoke PS-GharindaDistt. Amritsar, aged 40 years.
Ranjitsingh @ Rana hadpreviously been arrested by Amritsar Police in two NDPS cases, one of about 1.50 Kg Heroin and other of 9 Kg heroin(as he disclosed).
Accused Harpreet Singh sent to judicial custody and both accused Ranjit Singh @ Rana S/o Sh. Satnam Singh and Ranjeet Singh @ Rana S/o Sh. Inderjit Singh are on police remand and further investigating is going on.
