ROLE OF NCC IN SWACHHATA ABHIYAN PAVING THE WAY TO A CLEANER NATION

The 2 Chandigarh Battalion NCC and Central Bureau of Communication Chandigarh, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting joined hands to organize a cleanliness drive, a Swachhata rally,a declamation and a thematic Nukkad Natak at the Japanese Garden in Sector 31, Chandigarh today.

(MOREPIC1) More than 180 NCC cadets representing various colleges in Chandigarh participate in this special drive, which was conducted in response to the Hon’ble Prime Minister's appeal to contribute 1 hour of “Shramdaan” for cleanliness at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The objective was for all citizens to come together in a collective effort, which would serve as a heartfelt tribute, or “Swachhanjali,” to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

These activities are aimed to raise awareness about the significance of cleanliness and hygiene. NCC cadets, renowned for their discipline and dedication, came together to make a positive impact on their communities by actively participating in Swachhata Pakhwada.

On the occasion, Shri Rajinder Chaudhary, Additional Director-General, Press Information Bureau was the chief guest. He emphasized that cleanliness is not merely a virtue but a way of life. It entails taking responsibility for our surroundings, ensuring proper waste disposal, and recognizing that a clean environment directly contributes to our well-being. It's about instilling a sense of pride towards our nation and for conservation of its natural beauty.

The event was organized under the guidance of 2 Chandigarh Battalion's NCC Commanding Officer, Sh. Paramjit Singh, along with the support of Subedar Maj. Joginder Pal Bhatti, Naib Sub.Ajay Kumar, and Subedar S. K Singh.
