MAJOR HUNT TO NAB DRUG CRONROLLER SUNIL CHAUDHARY

In a significant development on 27.09.2023, a case FIR No. 06 dated 27.09.2023 u/s 8 & 12 Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 Police Station Vigilance Chandigarh has been registered against Sunil Chaudhary, Drug Control Officer, Chandigarh & Ashok Narula.
The complainant has alleged that he is running a orthopaedic surgical shop at Shop No. 26, Ground Floor, Bansal Complex, Near Gram Sampark Dhanas, Chandigarh.
(SUBHEAD)About one month ago Mr. Sunil Chaudhary Drug Control officer and Ashok Narula visited his shop and they checked his shop. During checking Sunil Chaudhary Drug Control Officer told him that there were many shortcomings in his shop and they would seal the shop.
On this he said that he will fix the minor deficiencies as soon as possible. Then Ashok Narula told him that you want to seal your shop and at the same time Sunil Chaudhary took his sign on a paper and Ashok Narula told him that your work will be done for Rs. 10, 00, 00/ (One Lac)- and your shop will not be sealed.
On this he told that he is unable to give that much money. Then Ashok Narula told that your work will be done in Rs. 80000/-(Eight thousands) and come to my office Sector-20, Chandigarh with money. But he could not manage the money.
After few days, he went to GH Sector-16, Chandigarh to meet Sunil Chaudhary where Ashok Narula was also sitting there. He requested to Sunil Chaudhary that he is not in position to pay the huge amount on this Sunil Chaudhary said that it will not be less than the amount told earlier.
Mr. Sunil Chaudhary Drug Control Officer and Ashok Narula are in collusion with each other and they demanded bribe money Rs. 80000/- from him but complainant did not want to give this bribe money to alleged person and approached to PS-Vigilance, Chandigarh.
The Vigilance Cell laid down the trap and the accused Ashok Narula has been arrested while he accepted the bribe amount Rs. 25000/-. Further accused Ashok Narula has been arrested produced before the Hon’ble court and obtained three days police remand.
UT Vigilance spokesman said, we are in search of Sunil Chaudhary.
Further investigation of the case is under progress.
