At the CII Manufacturing Innovation Conclave held today in New Delhi, Mr G Narendra Nath, Joint Secretary, National Security Council Secretariat, Government of India, highlighted the pivotal role of security as a functional requirement in the journey of innovation. Stressing that security strategies are paramount for organizations embracing cutting-edge technology, Mr. Nath set the tone for a day of insightful discussions.

There is a need to build capabilities to drive innovation, ensuring security as a functional requirement, he emphasized.

The manufacturing sector in India is on the brink of a technological renaissance, driven by the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and a resolute commitment to innovation-led manufacturing. The Government of India's relentless emphasis on the tech and digital revolution is propelling the nation towards Industry 4.0, promising unprecedented opportunities and growth for manufacturers.

The Conclave, attended by industry titans and thought leaders, thus deliberated on the roadmap for the future of manufacturing in India, with a specific focus on harnessing the nation's robust digital ecosystem for global competitiveness.

In his address, Mr Madhav Singhania, Deputy Chairman, CII (Northern region) and Deputy Managing Director & CEO, J K Cement Ltd said that Industry 4.0 technologies cater to future innovation and sustainability. He opined that these technologies hold the key to creating a sustainable environment across various industries while significantly reducing costs in manufacturing and research and development.

In his welcome remarks, Mr Kishore Jayarmnan, Conclave Chairman & President, India & South Asia, Rolls-Royce mentioned that the interplay of technology, automation and human ingenuity is creating unprecedented technological breakthroughs. He called for greater collaboration between humans and machines to enhance operational productivity, suggesting that cross-sector cooperation and knowledge sharing are essential to truly harness the potential of Industry 4.0.

In his Inaugural remarks, Mr Salil Gupte, Chairman, CII National Committee on Aerospace and President, Boeing India stressed that embracing Industry 4.0 is not an option but a necessity as we seek to maximize the efficiency of more resilient supply chains in a post-pandemic world.

The Conclave also featured Mr Tarun Mishra, Founder, Covacsis Technologies, who advocated for dispelling common misconceptions surrounding Industry 4.0 and IIOT in the manufacturing sector through real-life project examples and live case studies.

Mr Shridhar Kamath, Partner, Deloitte India highlighted the tangible benefits reaped by organizations that have implemented Industry 4.0, including cost savings, improved efficiency, enhanced customer satisfaction, and growth. He urged organizations to stay at the forefront of technological advances while navigating the challenges of digital transformation.

The event brought together industry leaders and subject matter experts from prominent organizations such as J Applicant Tyre, Adani Group, Difcato Robotics & Automation, Infosys, IBM, TCS, and more. The Conclave covered an array of topics, including Industry 4.0 implementation, Future Forward: 5G, Gen AI, and witnessed participation from over 150 enthusiastic attendees.
