Tightening the noose around illegal activities in the area, the police have arrested five persons and have recovered 8 pistols and six live rounds a from them.

While divulging details SP Randhir Kumar said that on Thursday, the sleuths belonging to Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) had conducted a raid at the residence of one of the accused identified as Baljinder Kumar alias B.K. at Bajidpur village where he along with his two accomplices Sajan and Samual, were planning a robbery.

(SUBHEAD)The SP said that during the raid the police had recovered two pistols along with magazines and six live rounds from them following which a case under 25,54,59 Arms Act was registered against them (FIR No. 118 Dated 20.09.2023).

“During the investigation, it came to fore that one of the accused Samual was in touch with Amandeep and Vishal, who were presently lodged in Ferozepur Central jail. Both Amandeep and Vishal used to provide information to Samual regarding illegal weapon sellers in Madhya Pradesh.

Recently the accused had even gone to Khandwa village in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh and had brought 8 illegal weapons as per information provided by Amandeep and Vishal”, said SP adding that one other accused Rajinder Kumar alias R.K., resident of Bajidpur was also involved in this case as he used to provide money to buy these weapons.

Notably, Rajinder Kumar is still eluding the police in this case.

“We have arrested Amandeep and Vishal , who were lodged in the jail after producing the production warrant and a hunt has been launched to nab Rajinder kumar”, said SP Randhir.
