Keeping in view the present scenario in hike of theft and snatching incidents occurred in the city and on the directions of Ms. KanwardeepKaur, IPS, SSP/UT under the supervision of Dilsher Singh Chandel, DSP/DCC and Inspector Jasminder Singh, I/C DCC, team of District Crime Cell succeeded in arresting 2 accused persons under NDPS Act.
CASE FIR NO.322 DATED 20.09.2023 U/S 21 & 29 NDPS ACT, PS-36, CHANDIGARH: On 20.09.2023, SI SapinderSingh along with police party of District Crime Cell, Sector-24, Chandigarh, were on patrolling duty in UT Area. At about 10:55 PM, when they reached near Govt. houses turn, Sec-52, Chandigarh, two persons holding bags in their hand was seen coming towards patrolling party. On seeing police party they turned back and started walking fast.
On suspicion, police officials by showing their efficiency apprehended the said persons, who were trying to throw some object from theirbags. On checking the object, drug contraband Heroin/Chitta was found.
On asking they disclosed their namesas Harpreet Singh @ Happy S/o Ninder Singh R/o Adda Markot near Guru Teg BahadurGurudwara, Distt- TaranTaran, PS- Valtoha, PB age- 20 yearsand , Charanjit Singh @ Vicky S/o Swaran Singh R/o Vill. Ameeke, Amarkot, Teh- Patti, Distt- TaranTaran, PB Age- 34 Years.
On weighing 22.08 Grams Heroin/chittahas been recovered from accused Harpreet Singh @ Happy and 12.44 grams Heroin/chitta wasrecovered from the possession Charanjit Singh @ Vicky, (total 32.84 grams Heroin/Chitta).In this regard case FIR No. 322 dated 20.09.2023, u/s 21 & 29 NDPS Act, PS-36, Chandigarh has been registered against both the accused Harpreet Singh @ Happy and Charanjit Singh @ Vickyand they has been arrested in the said case.
(SUBHEAD)During the course of investigation, accused Harpreet Singh @ Happy S/o Ninder Singh disclosed thathe indulge in this drug selling business from 2 to 2½ years. He used to purchase drugs from different areas of Punjab i.e. Amritsar and Tarn Taran, and selling drugs in tri-city area along with the other accused Charanjit Singh @ Vicky and earn huge profits to meet their daily expenses.
Both the accused have been produced before the Hon’ble Court to get their police custody to nab the main source of the drug. The further investigation of the case is in progress.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Harpreet Singh @ Happy S/o Ninder Singh, Adda markot near Guru Teg Bahadur Gurudwara, PS- Valtoha,Distt- TaranTaran, Pb, 20 Years, studied upto 10th and running meat shop . recovered 22.08 grams Heroin/Chitta. After going through the previous record of accused Harpreet Singh @ Happy, 01 case has been found registered against him under NDPS act in PS- Valtoha, Distt- Tran Taran, PB and recovered 49 grams Heroin/Chitta.
Accused Charanjit Singh @ Vicky S/o Swaran Singh, Vill. Ameeke, Amarkot, PS- Valtoha, Teh- Patti, Distt- Tarn Taran, PB, 34 Years, studied upto 9th pass, working as Taxi driver. recovered 12.44 grams Heroin/Chitta.
