OVER FLOWING CHOES, DISTT.MAGISTRATE RESTRICT ENTRY OF HUMAN , PET ANIMALS AND CATTLE

Whereas it has been brought to the notice of the District Magistrate that due to continuous/regular heavy rainfall, the water bodies and choes such as Patiala ki Rao, Sukhna Choe, etc., are over-flowing and entering into the water bodies by human, pet animals/cattle for various purposes like fishing, swimming, etc. can put their lives in danger.

So, the District Magistrate is of the considered view that there is an urgent need to restrict the entry of human and pet animals/cattle in these water bodies like lakes, ponds, nalas, choes etc. for all purposes so that their lives are not put at stake.

(SUBHEAD)Now, therefore, Vinay Pratap Singh, District Magistrate, U.T., Chandigarh in exercise of the powers vested with him under section 144 of the Cr.P.C., does hereby order as an emergency measure that no person shall himself go or take cattle/pet animals inside the nalas, choes, rivulets, lakes, ponds and other similar water bodies such as Patiala ki Rao, Sukhna Choe etc. in Chandigarh. Any breach of this order would invite action under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.

Provided that the above order shall not apply to the Disaster Management Team/Police or military or para-military personnel and other Govt. servants engaged in rescue operations or the activities authorized by the competent authority.

In view of the emergent nature of the order, it is being issued ex-parte and is addressed to the public in general. This order shall come into force with effect from zero hours on 23.08.2023 and shall be effective for a period of sixty days up-to and including 21.10.2023.
