CHANDIGARH ADMINISTRATION GRANTED AGGREGATOR LICENSEW TO OLA AND UBER TO PROVIDE CAB SERVICE

ADVISES IF ANY CAB OPERATOR TAKES WRONG ROUTE OR LENGTHY ROUTE COMMUTER MAY PRESS PANIC BUTTON AND CALL POLICE HELPLINE 112 IMMEDIATELY.

UT Administration has granted Aggregator license to two companies namely OLA and Uber to provide the cab services in UT Chandigarh.

General Public is hereby advised to book cabs having yellow commercial number plates through these two companies for the safety of the General Public and not to book cabs through un-registered app based Aggregator companies.

It is also advised not to travel in cab/bike having private number (white plate) which is illegal, failing which strict legal action will be taken against passengers as well as drivers of private vehicle. The Panic buttons are also installed in the commercial cabs which can be pressed in emergency. Chandigarh Administration has fixed maximum fare rate for cab of Rs. 34/- per kilometer in UT Chandigarh.

If any cab operator / company over-charges the fare STA office may be contacted on telephone number 0172-2700159 or email sta18-chd@nic.in immediately. If any cab operator takes wrong route or lengthy route commuter may press panic button and call police helpline 112 immediately.
