12 WING AIR FORCE CELEBRATES MERI MATI MERA DESH CAMPAIGN AT CHANDIGARH

To Mark the `Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign’ launched by Govt of India as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, various activities were conducted at 12 Wing Air Force Station Chandigarh from 09 August to 15 August, 2023.

An ‘Amrit Vatika’ was developed by planting of 75 saplings of indigenous species to replenish mother earth as ‘Vasudha Vandhan’ at Kandala village, SAS Nagar, Mohali near the Station on 09 August, 2023. `Panch Pran’ pledge was also taken during this event with the participation of the local residents in the programme.

Two martyrs of the Indian Airforce's Garud force, who laid their lives in the service of the nation, were honoured as a part of `Veeron Ka Vandan’ at Zirakpur and Kurali village respectively on 14, Aug 2023. The martyr’s families were felicitated during the events. Retired personnel from the three Services, Police, school children, teachers and local residents participated in the felicitation programme. On the occasion, the National flag was unfurled, National Anthem was sung.

The campaign was conducted successfully with the effective co-ordination of Mr. Paramjeet Singh, State Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan in Zirakpur and Mr. Gurvinder Singh, District Youth Officer, Kurali.
