Face2News/Chandigarh

The city cyclists will mark the upcoming independence day in a very different way by unfurling the tricolor with Border Security Force (BSF) after covering a massive 260 kilometers padeling from Chandigarh and express their patriotism at Wagah border – the international border between India and Pakistan near Amritsar.

A total of nine cyclists from tricity are participating in this edition of Jashn-e-Azadi ride being organized by Cycleworx Club, These cyclists includes Vikrant Sharma, Sudeep Rawat, Ashwini Kumar, Rajesh Kler, Nitender Dhillon, Arnav Malik, Bhavik Sharma (Tender Heart High School, Sector 33), Kairav Sharma (KBDAV School, Sector 7), Tanmay Rawat (Delhi Public School, Sector 40). Nine-year-old Kairav is the youngest cyclist among them. The cyclists will set out from Chandigarh at 4 am on August 14.

(SUBHEAD)Leading this ride, Vikrant Sharma said that the role of BSF in the security of the country has been commendable. The dedication of the BSF personnel posted on the border towards the country gives us all the feeling of being safe every moment. He said that this ride has been organized to make this Independence Day memorable for them and ourselves

It has been a tradition of these cyclists to dedicate such rides to the defence line on every Independence Day. Last year, almost the same set of cyclists completed his ride at 10,000 feet on the Atal Tunnel near Rohtang, built by the Border Road Organization (BRO). In 2021, these same cyclists celebrated Independence Day by completing a ride of nearly 250 kms with the Indian Army at Hussainiwala border near Ferozepur.
