Work education instructors employed under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan), working in various government schools of Haryana since August 2014 in various departments as Music, Singing, Tabla, Fine art, Drama and Dance instructors had started Dharna again behind Shiksha Sadan, Sector-5, Panchkula to demand their inclusion in the bylaws formed by the council in 2013,

Today was the 47th day of the dharna and the sixth day of their ‘fast unto death’. The Work Education Instructors had decided to protest peacefully in front of the Chief Minister’s residence. Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the school education, Mr. Rajesh Khullar, today met with the instructors on fast and assured to resolve their concern as soon as possible.

(SUBHEAD)Work Education Instructors demanded that similar to the rest of the employees of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, they too be covered under the service bylaws 2013 and an equal grade pay as of the other employees. Rajat Bhatt, President, told that the department has accepted our demands and Mr. Rajesh Khullar ended the fast of four of our colleagues sitting on hunger strike by giving them fruit juice.

The ‘Fast unto Death’ has ended but the dharna will continue like this and we hope that our demands will be fulfilled by the department at the earliest, said Bhatt.
