UT SSP CHAIRED MEETING WITH RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES TO MAINTAIN PEACE AND HARMONY

In view of the present scenario in various parts of the Country, a briefing/meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, UT Chandigarh with the liaison of Sh. Ram Gopal, DSP/CID with all representatives of various religious communities at Committee Room, Police Headquarters, Sector-9, Chandigarh.

SSP/UT addressed all the religious leaders/members and ensured them that Chandigarh Police will continue to extend full cooperation and provide all sort of assistance to all religious communities equally and bridge brotherhood-relationship and communal harmonium among the various communities. In the coming festival season, a neighborhood watch scheme is going to be launched in the city for the welfare of the residents.

(SUBHEAD)They were apprised about some viral fake messages/rumors on Social Media and advised to keep them away from such types of rumors. All the religious dignitaries were assured for their safety and security in Chandigarh and further advised to live together in a peaceful atmosphere and if anything adverse comes to their notice, the same may be informed to the Police Control Room Chandigarh. They were informed that loud speakers are officially allowed by the Chandigarh Administration upto 10 PM in the city. The collective efforts of local residents are also needed to curb the drug menace in the area of Chandigarh.

Navrattan Jain, Jain Mandir, Ashok Tiwari, Sri Hindu Takhat, Pancham Chouhan Hindu, from Muslim community Moulana Imran, Jama Masjid, Manimajra, Mufti Mohd. Anaz Qarim, Masjid, Bapu Dham Colony, Takhat from Sikh community Sh. Tara Singh Chairman (Chd Samuh Gurudwara Parbandhak Sangathan Regd.), Sh.
