Several plastic bottles having the powdered mixtures recovered

The staff of PS Lajpat Nagar of South-East District has arrested three cheaters namely Dalip Bellani @ Vishal Pandit, Saurabh Singh and Shekhar Venkatappa Shirke who had cheated people by selling Herbal medicines for treatment of incurable diseases such as Autism, Palsy etc.
On 30.07.2023, complainant Mr. Sumit Verma visited PS Lajpat Nagar to lodge a complaint regarding cheating on the pretext of selling Herbal medicines for treatment of incurable diseases such as Autism, Palsy etc.
In his complaint, he alleged that his son has been suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder for which he has been taking treatment in Delhi for last 5 years. In the first week of July, his family visited DLF Mall, Noida where one unknown person approached them and offered for the treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Further, he induced the complainant to visit to their store namely Herbal Ayurvedic Store at Lajpat Nagar, Delhi.
On 20.07.2023, the complainant along with his wife and son went to the said Herbal Ayurvedic Store at Lajpat Nagar where he met one Vishal Pandit. The said Vishal Pandit told them that by use of special herbal oils they have treated various persons suffering from Austim and other diseases. Next, he made a concoction by mixing 6 different kinds of ‘Herbs’ soaked in the oil. Thereafter, Vishal Pandit gave him a rough bill of Rs 5,19,240/- after a discount of Rs. 19,240/-.
Thereafter, he paid an amount of Rs 5,00,000/- cash which was collected by their agent. When the complainant discussed about the said concoction with his known doctor, he realized that he has been cheated on the pretext of ayurvedic treatment. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 491/23 u/s 406/420/120B IPC was registered at PS Lajpat Nagar and the investigation of the case was taken up.
Sensing the gravity of offence, a dedicated team comprising SI Pardeep Malik, SI Sikander, HC Nitin Kumar, HC Dharampal and Ct Vikas led by SHO/ Lajpat Nagar under the supervision of ACP/Lajpat Nagar was constituted to nab the cheaters.
(SUBHEAD)The team swung into action and raided to their store namely Herbal Ayurvedic Store, Lajpat Nagar, Delhi and apprehended three persons. On enquiry, their identity was established as Dalip Bellani @ Vishal Pandit s/o Lt Shri Shyam Sunder Bellani R/o Uttam Nagar, Delhi age 44 yrs, Saurabh Singh s/o Rakesh Singh R/o Lodhi Road, Khanna Market Delhi age 25 yrs and Shekhar Venkatappa Shirke s/o Venkat Durgappa Shirke R/o Sarai Kale Khan, Delhi age 27 yrs. With their arrest, several plastic bottles having the powdered mixtures have been recovered. It was being sold as precious solid extracts by the accused persons.
INTERROGATION: Mr. Rajesh Deo , IPS, DCP, South East Distt., said on sustained interrogation, all accused persons disclosed that they lure people by taking advantage of their vulnerability of falling prey to offers of treatment of diseases like autism, palsy etc. as they become ready to explore every treatment available for their children suffering from such disorders. They target such victims who see hope in Ayurvedic treatment.
They hired agents (both male and female) on commission basis who search customers near Hospitals, Malls in Delhi NCR and then induce them by revealing the false stories of their own relatives having fully recovered from such ailments and ask them to visit the Ayurvedic experts and purchase medicines from their store at Lajpat Nagar.
Thereafter, the cheaters purchase 2-3 types of Bhasma (भस्म) and different types of powders from various places in Delhi i.e Chandini Chowk, Khari Baoli at cheap prices and create a mixture by mixing different kinds of colors and sell it to the customers at high prices. They assume different false names and then cheat the customers in various places of Delhi.
They create new type of Bhasm in front of customers by mixing different kinds of powders in oil (Seasame Oil, Mustrad Oil, Coconut Oil) and disguised themselves as ayurvedic doctors. Finally, they also prepare rough bill for the customers and used fake GST stamp on the bill for giving a sense of authenticity and charge exorbitant amount from the victim.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Accused Dalip Bellani @ Vishal Pandit s/o Lt Shri Shyam Sunder Bellani R/o Uttam Nagar, Delhi age 44 yrs had studied upto 10th class. He learnt some basics of Ayurvedic treatment. He is previously involved in 02 cases of cheating.
Accused Saurabh Singh s/o Rakesh Singh R/o Lodhi Road, Khanna Market Delhi age 25 yrs had studied upto 10th class. No previous involvement has been found against him.
Accused Shekhar Venkatappa Shirke s/o Venkat Durgappa Shirke R/o Sarai Kale Khan, Delhi age 27 yrs had studied upto 10th class. No previous involvement has been found against him.
