NCC Group Headquarter Chandigarh along with Army battalion, Navy Squadron, Air Squadron observed Kargil Vijay Diwas to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War (1999). On the occasion, Brig Parvinder Singh, Group Commander,
NCC Group Headquarter Chandigarh, paid homage to the martyred soldier Captain Vikram Batra (Param Vir Chakra) & other bravehearts.
The day is being observed every year to imbibe the spirit of patriotism in the youth, which was reflected in the martyrdom of our brave soldiers, who laid their lives in Kargil war” he said. On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas , a total 210 cadets of 2 Chandigarh battalion NCC, participated in the celebrations. A poster-making competition, quiz competition, signature drive, Vijay Diwas victory rally were also organized to pay homage to the martyrs of the battle .
