Ferozepur: The staff members of various offices of District Administrative Complex today went on strike following the call given by the state body, to express their resentment against alleged misbehavior of AAP Rupanagar MLA with a senior revenue official at Rupnagar few days ago.

It is pertinent to mention here that all revenue officials in Punjab had been on strike since yesterday due to which the work has been hampered badly.

Pippal Singh, one of the officials of revenue office said that the government must instruct their MLAs to work in their prescribed jurisdiction and they should not interfere in other people’s work.

(SUBHEAD)Praveen Kumar Sethi, another employee from DAC said it seems that this incident has been deliberately planned so that the government could divert people’s mind towards other issues. “I think the MLA has deliberately done this kind of behavior to divert the attention of everybody from our long pending demands. The MLA should unconditionally apologize from the officials with whom he had misbehaved. Only then we will finish our strike”, said Sethi.

Charanjit Kaur, resident of Village Machi Bugra, situated around 15 kms away from the district headquarter said that she had come to SDM office for some work but now she will have to go back. “Though the weather conditions were not good still I had to come here but I feel bad that no one is here to serve the public”, said Charanjit kaur.
