REWARD OF RS. 1 LAKH DECLARED ON HIS ARREST

A team of Western Range-II/Crime Branch arrested a proclaimed offender Mohd. Khalid R/o Chand Bagh, Delhi. He is involved in the murder case of HC Rattan Lal in case FIR No. 60/2020, PS Dayalpur, Delhi. A reward of ₹ 1 lakh was also declared on his arrest.
Secret information was received by Insp Gurmeet Singh that a proclaimed offender Mohd. Khalid, who is wanted in a murder case of PS Dayalpur, Delhi is hiding at Moreh, Imphal, Manipur (near Mayamar-India border) and could be apprehended from there.
Accordingly, a team led by Insp Gurmeet Singh, comprising of SI Ravi Bhushan, HC Jitendra Singh and HC Mohit Kumar under the close supervision of ACP Yashpal Singh was constituted by DCP Satish Kumar and Joint CP S.D. Mishra to nab the absconder.With the help of technical surveillance and sincere efforts of the team, accused Mohd. Khalid was arrested from Moreh, Imphal, Manipur (near Myanmar-India border).
INTERROGATION: Mr. Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime, said, uring sustained interrogation, accused disclosed that in the year 2020, he along-with his elder brother Mohd. Ayaz and other associates participated in the anti-CAA/NRC protest at Chand Bagh, Delhi. A secret meeting was held at his home and it was unanimously decided to bring sticks, iron rods etc. to block the roads.(SUBHEAD)
Accordingly, the rioters blocked the road leading to Jafrabad Metro Station and consequently, different groups started rioting in various parts of North-East Delhi, resulting in death of more than 50 people, injury to hundreds of persons with huge loss of government and private properties. In this regard, over 750 cases were registered in various police stations of North-East Delhi.
During the riots, a huge mob gathered at the Chand Bagh protest site and attempted to block the main Wazirabad road. However, when the police team tried to stop them, the accused Khalid, his brother Mohd. Ayaz and other rioters started pelting stones and attacked on the police party, causing death of Delhi Police Head Constable Rattan Lal and grievous injuries to many other police personnel. A case vide FIR No. 60/2020 was registered at PS Dayalpur, Delhi in this regard. The accused Mohd. Khalid was absconding and evading his arrest since last three years.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED: Accused Mohd. Khalid is residing with his family in Chand Bagh, Delhi. He studied upto to 8th class only. He works as a helper in property business of his elder brother.
