BJP HIGH COMMAND APPOINTED SUNIL JAKHAR AS STATE PRESIDENT

BJP highcommand appointed veteran leader Sunil Jakhar Member of  BJP National Executive Committee, as President of Punjab State  as MLA Ashwani Sharma had  resident on direction of High Command. 

(MOREPIC1) It may add that Jakhar had made a big political explosion on 14 May 2022, left the Congress on issuing show cause notice by his Party. akhar had said goodbye to the Congress. At the same time, during the Punjab assembly elections 2022, he had distanced himself from active politics. Jakhar had said that he would no longer be in active politics, but he joined  BJP  on May 19, 2022 BJP and given warm welcome.

Sunil Jakhar is the son of former Union Minister and Lok Sabha Speaker Balram Jakhar. Born in 1954 in Panjkosi village of Abohar. Sunil Jakhar has been elected three times as MLA from Abohar Assemb,ly constituence between 2002 and 2017. In 2017, Jakhar had lost to the BJP candidate from the Abohar assembly seat from Ajay Narang BJP.

Sunil Jakhar also successfully contested the by-election from the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat in 2017 after the death of MP Vinod Khanna. During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Jakhar had to face defeat from Gurdaspur seat to BJP candidate and actor Sunny Deol by a margin of over 82,000 votes.
