CSIR-CSIO'S ONE-WEEK-ONE-LAB CAMPAIGN CONTINUES WITH EXCITING EVENTS

CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh continues its dynamic One-Week-One-Lab campaign with a series of engaging events on June 26, 2023. These events, designed to foster collaboration and innovation, bring together industry leaders, innovators, MSMEs, academia, and stakeholders to discuss crucial topics and pave the way for transformative advancements in various fields.

The day kicked off with the Industry/Innovator/MSME/Academia Meet, a collaborative platform where experts from diverse sectors gathered to exchange insights, forge partnerships, and explore opportunities for mutual growth and development. This interactive session, held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, served as a catalyst for innovation and laid the foundation for fruitful collaborations between academia and industry.(SUBHEAD)

Simultaneously, CSIR-CSIO hosted the Stakeholders Meet on Jal Jeevan Mission from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This meet brought together key stakeholders and experts to discuss and deliberate on the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission—an initiative aimed at providing safe and sustainable drinking water to all households in India. The discussions focused on leveraging technological advancements and research to address challenges and accelerate the mission's progress.

In line with CSIR-CSIO's commitment to national defense and security, the organization organized the Roadmap to Defence Technologies and Manufacturing session from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. This strategic meeting brought together defense industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers to chart a roadmap for the development and manufacturing of cutting-edge defense technologies. The session aimed to strengthen India's defense capabilities and foster self-reliance in the defense sector.

As part of this exciting initiative, CSIR-CSIO and CRIKC Institutions hosted a panel discussion on the topic “INNOVATIONS: PRESENT AND FUTURE”.The panel discussion delved into the philosophy of innovation practices within CRIKC Institutions and explored their strategic roadmap for the future.

Distinguished experts, thought leaders, and innovators from various fields gathered at CSIR-CSIO to share their insights, experiences, and visions for the future of innovation. The panel discussion served as a platform to engage in stimulating conversations, exchange ideas, and explore the potential of innovation to address the challenges of the present and shape a better future.

Smt. AnanditaMitra Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, today visited the Vermicomposting Site and Wet Waste Facility for processing of horticulture & food waste, respectively, at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh. The CSIO team apprised her about the timelines and methodology of composting techniques applied by use of earthworms and drum de-composting. She said it was an eye opener for her to see such a meticulously organized facility for handling of horticulture & wet waste at the source level itself.

She appreciated the high quality of vermicompost produced from horticulture waste in 56 days at a reasonable cost & zero maintenance. The MC commissioner stated that seeing the processing of wet waste (food waste) via Aerobic Drum De-composting method, which is both energy and water efficient and yields liquid fertilizer and solid manure in 30 days, was a valuable learning experience. Further, she expressed her interest in entering into an MOU with CSIR-CSIO for awareness, training & successful execution of vermicomposting & wet waste facility for MC operated 104 sites and other resident welfare associations throughout city beautiful.
