Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma, President, Federation of Private Schools Welfare Association, told the journalists here today that the BJP government of Haryana talks about working against corruption. But, the review policy of the government for permanent recognition of private schools is likely to promote corruption.
He raised questions on repeated review of the schools which have already been recognized by the government itself. The recognition was given as per rules. Apart from this, the private schools provide all the information related to the schools in Form-6 every year. Then why does the government want to force new rules? If the government wants, it can take an affidavit from the schools with permanent recognition for 10 years that whether the school is running or not, as well as other information.
Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma said that the school operators will have to face the brunt of the government offices for renewal. Today the situation has become such that private school operators are being made to pass through the red tape.
Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma said that BJP is following the zero-tolerance policy. In such a situation, this rule which promotes corruption should be changed immediately, as the government itself has given the slogan of ‘minimum government maximum governance’. So what is the justification for this oppressive rule? Does the government inspect government schools? Are all the government schools of the state fulfill the norms? This is the burning question of today. In such a situation, why is the sword of investigation and rules hanging only on private schools?(SUBHEAD)
Chairman Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma said that the Education Department of Haryana issued a letter a week ago, in which it has been said that the private schools which have turned 10 years old, will have to get their recognition reviewed.
Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma says that this decision of the Haryana government is not just and rational. According to this, private school operators will have to fill in more than 400 pages of information. This is a very complex process. It's like going through the complicated process of getting re-accredited. In this process, all the school directors of the state will be confused.
Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma says that the Federation of Private Schools Welfare Association and the office bearers of other unions, including the private school operators, will meet Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar at his residence in Chandigarh and will put before him the intricacies of recognition. Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma said, “We will directly ask the Education Minister to withdraw this order and provide relief to private schools. We hope that the government will accept our just demand and provide relief to us.”
Kulbir Singh Rawat, Ashutosh Gaur, Trilok Bhardwaj, Satbir Singh, Baldev Ahuja and many others were also present at the press conference.
