NCC 2ND BN CELEBERATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF POKHRAN TEST ON THE OCCASION OF NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DAY

National Technology Day is celebrated every year on 11 May.

On May 11, 1998, under the leadership of former Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, successfully conducted nuclear tests at Pokhran near Jaisalmer, Rajasthan and entered the group of countries with nuclear weapons. Pokhran is celebrated as the 25th anniversary of the nuclear test and as a celebration of the achievements made by Indian scientists and engineers in the field of science and technology.

On this occasion, a program was organized by 2nd Chandigarh Battalion NCC Chandigarh in which 120 cadets of this unit participated enthusiastically. The topic 'Peaceful use of atomic energy for the development of the nation' was disseminated through speech, slogan and poster competition. NCC with its motto unity and discipline is committed to the empowerment of the youth who make valuable contribution towards nation building. United and disciplined cadets are playing their important role in realizing the dreams of India emerging as a safe and prosperous nation.
