In order to facilitate the Chandigarh Police personnel the transport Department has revised the existing fare notification by extending the free travel facility to police personnel of Chandigarh Police from existing local and long route travel in Non-AC (Ordinary) Buses to local and long route travel in HVAC/AC buses also.
Further, the amount of monthly charges in lieu of free travelling has been increased to Rs. 375/- as compared to Rs. 250/- at present per police personnel per month, provided that Police Department will issue a separate I-Card to the police personnel to ensure/ascertain that the requisite increased amount has been deposited by said police personnel in lieu of free travelling in CTU AC and Non AC local and long route buses.
