ONE LAPTOP, FIVE MOBILE PHONES AND ONE LED TV RECOVERED

In order to control organized crime in the jurisdiction of Outer District, Special Staff, Outer District has been tasked to develop information about the criminals involved in organized crime and to make efforts to nab them. Their efforts led to the busting of an IPL Cricket gambling racket during an ongoing IPL cricket match in the area of PS Nihal Vihar. Two accused persons have been arrested along with the recovery of one laptop, two mobile phones and one LED TV.
(SUBHEAD)On 15.04.2023, a secret information was received regarding one person namely Sanjay Kumar, operating a gambling racket during the ongoing IPL cricket matches in the area of PS Nihal Vihar. On receipt of the information, a dedicated team comprising SI Sandeep Kumar , ASI Manoj Kumar, HC Amit No. 2395/OD, HC Sunil No. 2058/OD, HC Vikas No. 144/OD, HC Dinesh No. 2063/OD, HC Naveen No. 760/OD, HC Tirender No. 713/OD and HC Narender No. 3045/OD, led by Insp. Praveen Kumar, Special Staff was constituted, under the supervision of Sh. Arun Kumar Chaudhary ACP/Ops.
Mr. Harendra Singh, IPS, DCP, outer distt, said, on the basis of the information, the team conducted a raid at C-56, Gali No. 3, Shiv Ram Park, Nihal Vihar, Delhi, where 02 persons including the kingpin namely Sanjay Kumar were found gambling online during the IPL cricket match between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challenger Bengaluru. Both the accused persons were apprehended and one laptop, five mobile phones and one LED TV were recovered from the spot. Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 462/2023 dated 15.04.2023 U/s 3/4 The Delhi Public Gambling Act was registered at PS Nihal Vihar and both the accused persons were arrested.

The kingpin Sanjay Kumar is previously involved in one other case of Gambling.
