Indian drug regulatory body Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has canceled the licenses of 18 pharma companies for manufacturing fake drugs after reviewing 76 companies in 20 states.
According to media reports, the government has taken action against 70 pharmaceutical companies in Himachal Pradesh, 45 in Uttarakhand and 23 in Madhya Pradesh.
It is known that most fake medicines were being manufactured in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh Significantly, before this, the license of Himalaya Meditech Private Limited was canceled in December last year.
