Chandigarh Police achieved a major success by recovering stolen vehicle by arresting one person, by the team of Police Station-49, under the leadership of Inspector Jai Parkash Singh SHO, PS-49, and close supervision of Dr. Vikas Sheokand, DSP/South.
A case Case FIR No. 26 dated 10.04.2023 U/s 471,473,411 IPC, PS-49, Chandigarh has been registered as Head Constable Varinder Singh No.102/CP posted at Police Station-49 Chandigarh. On 08.04.2023 from 11 AM to 01 PM, HC Varinder Singh along with C. Yashpal and ASI Santosh Kumari installed a Naka Near Beat Box/Motor Market Sector-48 Chandigarh. In the meantime, one boy on grey color activa came from the side of small Chowk Sector-48 Chandigarh without wearing helmet, HC Varinder and C Yashpal Stopped him and asked the documents of his activa. The registration number affixed on the Activa was CH01BG3915, on asking he disclosed his name and address as Ashish S/o Lalit Kumar R/o 303, DMC UT Chandigarh Age-25 Years.
He further told that he is not carrying any documents of this vehicle and it belongs to one of his known namely Ankit S/o Vidhi R/o 3077, Sec-25 Chandigarh. As he did not produce any document, HC Varinder Singh impouded the above said vehicle i.e. Activa grey Color no. CH01BG3915 vide Challan No.CH139464230408111727.
Thereafter, one person namley Dharminder Yadav S/o Suraj Bali Yadav called HC Varinder Singh on his mobile and told that he has issued a wrong challan as Activa No. CH01BG3915 belongs to him and same is in his possession and he never visited Sector-48 Chandigarh today.
Thereafter HC Varinder Singh checked the Diggy of impounded Activa and one Aadhar Card in the name of Ankit S/o Biddi R/o 3077 Sector-25D Chandigarh found. It further revealed that that above said impounded vehicle is stolen one and FIR No.126 Dated 18.08.2021 U/s 379 IPC has already been registered at Police Station-17 Chandigarh. Accused Ankit affixed fake number plate on the alleged stolen vehilce.
The original number of above said vehilce is CH-01-BF-4645. During the course of investigation, accused Ankit Singh S/o Biddi R/o 3077 Sector-25D Chandigarh age-25 Years has been arrested on 10.04.2023 and produced before the Hon’ble Court of Illaqa Magistrate UT Chandigarh today and one
day Police remand has been obtained. The accused is also involved in other criminal cases.
Accused Profile AND criminal history: Ankit Singh S/o Biddi R/o 3077 Sector-25D Chandigarh Age-25 Years, Married and working as Labour. He is earlier involved in FIR No.42/28.05.2020 U/s 160 IPC PS-11 Chd. and FIR No.123/14.09.2021 U/s 379 added 411 IPC PS-11 Chd.
