In a major breakthrough the team of Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of Insp. Satvinder Singh with the close guidance of Sh. Rajnish, DSP Crime is able to arrest a gang of five boys who remained involved act of snatching and robbery on knife’s point.
ASI Baljeet Singh, along with police party was on patrolling duty in the area of Police Station Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh and was near the Peer (Dargarh), at about 10.10 on Saturday, a secret information was received that five boys who are involved in snatching and robbery have ‘Kamanidar Knifes’ with them and presently sitting in the park near Parcheen Shiv Mandir as well as looking for another prey.
Taking this information as true, when the team reached near park, Parcheen Shiv Mandir, on seeing the police party all the boys try to escape from the park but all were apprehended with the help police party. They could not give the satisfactory reply to run from the park. They disclosed Vikash @ Taika, Manish @ Topi @ Bona, Rohan and two were juvenile. On their search 5 kamanidar knifes were recovered from their possession. Subsequently a case FIR No. 43 dated 8.4.2023 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act PS-MJ, Chd. Was registered against them and arrested/detain in the case.
Profile of the accused:- Vikash @ Taika r/o # 2551, Maouli Complex, Chandigarh aged 18 years, Manish @ Topi @ Bona r/o # 2654, Mauli Complex, Chandigarh aged 20 years., Rohan r/o # 2526, Mauli Complex, Chandigarh aged 18 years. and two juveniles
Recovery: 5 kamanidari Knifes, 9 snatched mobiles
Modus Operandi: They fixed their target on the pedestrians, cyclists at night time. One of them demand a bidi from the targeted person, in the meantime others attacked upon that person and snatched his belongings from him on knife’s point and threatened with dire consequences, if he would report to the police.
Previous History: Accused Rohan has tainted past and has already been arrested in Arms Act by the Chandigarh Police. The accused were produced in the court and their police remand obtained. Investigation is still in progress.
