To celebrate International Women's Day, the Gender Champions Club of GGDSD College, Chandigarh organised an awareness session on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 today. Mr. Vaibhav Sharma, Advocate at Punjab and Haryana High Court was the resource person on the occasion.
(MOREPIC1) Mr. Sharma explained the provisions of the Act highlighting the constituents and types of sexual harassment. He detailed the procedure for filing a complaint under the Act and spoke about the various remedial actions that can be taken against an accused.
Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal encouraged staff members to make themselves aware of the nuances of the issue and assured them of an effective redressal system that is in place in the college.
Dr. Divya Jyoti Randev, club in-charge proposed the vote of thanks. Club faculty members Mr. Varinder Kumar, Ms. Ritika Sinha and Ms. Agrim Verma were also present on the occasion.
