Mahant Swami Ji Maharaj, the present spiritual head of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, was given a grand welcome by thousands of devotees as he reached Sarangpur after spending some days in Mumbai.
Built in 1916, the 108-feet high spired temple complex was decorated with colourful lights. On his arrival, Gnaneshwar Swami welcomed Mahant Swami ji Maharaj with a garland. Swami ji was led by band players dressed in attractive costumes, while child and youth artists in traditional attire greeted him by presenting a folk dance.
Notably, many senior saints including Shastri Ji Maharaj, Yogi Ji Maharaj and Pramukh Swami Ji Maharaj had made a valuable contribution in the construction of the Sarangpur temple built with the inspiration of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. Many top leaders of the country and abroad including Prime Minister Narendra Modi were present a few years back on the occasion of the last rites of the world-renowned Pramukh Swami Ji Maharaj, who had served as Kothari for a long time here.
Last month, Mahant Swami Ji Maharaj had led the Murti Pratishtha in the temple built at the Samadhi Sthal of Pramukh Swami Ji Maharaj.
Mahant Swamiji performed pooja, visited Pramukh Swami Ji’s room. Swamishri blessed Krishnavallabh Swami and sanctified the prasad for distribution on the occasion.
