On the demand of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangh, the Railways have announced to run special trains on the occasion of Somvati Amavasya.
NGO President Sushil Goyal said that whilequoting the message received from the Railway Board, the General Manager of North Western Railway last night issued a notification in this regard. It has been said that on the demand of railway passengers, special train 04717 will be run from Sriganganagar to Haridwar via Abohar on February 19 (Sunday) and February 20 (Monday). On the return, the 04718 train will leave Haridwar for Sriganganagar on February 20 and February 21.
The departure time of 04717 train from Abohar to Haridwar will be 5.46 pm. The stoppage of this train will be at Malout, Bathinda, Tapa, Barnala, Dhuri, Nabha, Patiala, Ambala, Yamuna Nagar, Saharanpur, Roorkee. On return, the special train will leave from Haridwar at 6 am.(SUBHEAD)
The NGO had sent a memorandum to the General Manager of Northern Railway that on Somvati Amavasya and Mahashivratri, hundreds of devotees from Abohar and nearby areas visit Haridwar on these festivals, but the Sriganganagar-Abohar-Haridwar intercity train is being run only till Saharanpur.Due to which the passengers for Haridwar are facing a lot of trouble.
Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangh has expressed gratitude to the railway authorities for the decision to run the special train. Devotees going for darshan of Neelkanth Mahadev will also be able to take advantage of these trains till Monday.
