‘Hunar Haat’, an AWWA Entrepreneurs Exhibition-cum-Mela for entrepreneurial pursuits and ventures is being organised by HQ Western Command at Tej Farms, near IT Park, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 18-19 February, 2023.

The objective of organizing ‘Hunar Haat’ is to showcase the potential of Army Wives and give them an opportunity to convert their talent into entrepreneurial endeavours, Western Command and Kharga Corps Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) have taken an initiative to provide them a platform to exhibit their skill.

The Haat will showcase many art and craft forms, jewellery and certain initiatives of army wives in a festive setting. The exhibition will be open for all 18-19 February to buy these products and to know about the steps taken for the welfare of the Army Wives.(SUBHEAD)

AWWA is a cohesive vibrant and responsive institution dedicated to the welfare of army wives and dependents.

AWWA strives to achieve its objectives through combined efforts and participation of its members. Unpredictability in the line of work in the Defence Forces brings with it a lot of uncertainty and pressures associated with a soldier’s day-to-day life.

Be it the loss of lives or sudden movement /mobilisation of units, it is the Army wives who bear the onus of gluing their family together and moulding their children’s future. Many of them are highly qualified and have multifarious talents. However, owing to the vagaries of the military life, they have to sacrifice their career aspirations in order to fulfil their role as a supportive wife, loving mother and an understanding companion.

These women are heroes in their own way and pillars of the families of the Army Personnel. AWWA ‘Hunar Haat’ is an endeavour to nurture the potential of these pillars of strength of our brave hearts.
