The Indian pilgrims on Thursday left for Pakistan to celebrate Maha Shivratri at Shri Katas Raj Dham located in Choa Saidan Shah segment of Chakwal district in the West Punjab province.
Pakistan Embassy has issued visas to 114 applicants for the pilgrimage. Main Maha Shivratri function will be held after taking holy bath in the Amar Kund. Celebrations include havan yagna at the ancient temple of Shri Laxminarayan located on a hill.(SUBHEAD)
Shri Ramayan Pracharini Sabha secretary Rakesh Nagpal of Fazilka informed that the Yatris on Thursday morning assembled at Shri Durgiana Mandir in Amritsar. Mandir managing committee president Prof. Laxmi Kanta Chawla, a former minister, and other members welcomed the yatris. Elaborate arrangements were made to serve refreshment to them. All of them paid obeisance at the Mandir and prayed for a successful pilgrimage.
Nagpal presented copies of his vernacular publication Sarhad Kesari and a book titled “Kahani Rishton ki” to Prof. Chawla and secretary Arun Khanna.
