BHAGWATI XI WINS JAKHAR TRUST OPEN CRICKET TOURNAMENT

In the Cricket tournament organized by the Jakhar Trust, the team of Bhagwati XI defeated Friends XI in the final match. The winning team was given a cash prize of Rs 51,000 and a trophy. The runner-up team was given a cash prize of Rs 21,000 and a trophy. Man of the series Sachin (Sanju) was given a cash prize of Rs 5100 and a trophy.

The annual event is a tribute to IFFCO ex-chairman Surinder Jakhar who had spearheaded a comprehensive campaign to keep youths away from drugs by involving them regularly in sports and social welfare activities.(SUBHEAD)

At the closing ceremony held at the Abha Square stadium in the presence of hundreds of people, Azeemgarh XI team was given Rs 11,000 and theBalaji XI was also presented with a cash prize of Rs 5100.

Chief guest MLA Sandeep Jakhar said that such tournaments will boost the morale of the youth. Municipal Corporation Mayor Vimal Thatai, Senior Deputy Mayor Ganpat Ram, Deputy Mayor Rajkumar Nirania, Dr. Rajendra Girdhar, Vipan Sharma, Sanjay Jakhar, Councillors Puneet Arora Sonu and Mehar Chand Taneja, Lovely Singh were also among those present. The commentary was done by Surinder Chanchal. Gurbachan Singh Saran, Chief Trustee of The Jakhar Trust thanked the dignitaries and the audience.
