PS Civil Lines team has launched a special drive against the active drug peddlers especially in the area of Majnu Ka Tilla, to break the chain of drug supply. A special team of PS Civil Lines, under the close supervision of Inspr. Ajay Kumar, SHO/PS Civil Lines and leadership of SI Vineet Kumar, (In-Charge PP Majnu Ka Tilla), comprising of ASI Yashpal, ASI Arun Singh, HC Pradeep Dagar and W/HC Pinki is working relentlessly and developing information about drug peddlers, under the guidance of Sh. Satender Yadav, ACP/Sub-Division, Civil Lines. The team also used to patrol in the area in odd hours, randomly to keep a check on such illegal activities.
There have been some inputs that one lady namely Kiran is engaged in drug paddling, but despite best efforts she could not be nailed down, due to extra precautions taken by her. The team relentlessly kept looking for the right opportunity to nab her. Local people were afraid of giving any information about her misdeeds because she belongs to Sansi community and used to bully and threaten the locals for passing information about her misdeeds.
However, this time around the regular motivation of HC Pardeep Dagar the locals to reveal some secret information related to the upcoming activities of thos lady. Following which, n 03.02.2023 at 04:00 PM, on the basis of secret information of the same source, team apprehended one lady namely Kiran, age-40 years from Aruna Nagar, Majnu Ka Tilla, Delhi while carrying 44 grams heroin in one black colour polythene bag.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 69/23 dated 03.02.2023 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Civil Lines, Delhi and investigation was taken up.
INTERROGATION: Mr. Sagar Singh Kalsi, IPS, DCP, North Distt, said, during interrogation, the lady accused Kiran, age-40 years tried to dodge and mislead the police team, but after sustained interrogation, she disclosed that she used to purchase the contraband drugs from a person known as Achhu who meets her in the area of Bhajanpura, Delhi on regular basis. She takes the stock of contraband drugs i.e. Heroin/Smack etc. for paying Rs. 5,000/- per pack of 5 grams. Subsequently, she makes small packets out of this material, each of about one gram and then she sells the same to the drug addicts of the local areas for Rs. 300/- to earn easy money.
On sustained interrogation, it was also revealed that the accused lady is a habitual and desperate natured lady, who is previously found involved in conspiracy of a gang rape case registered in PS Civil Lines, Delhi.(SUBHEAD)
Later on, raids were conducted at the possible whereabouts of the main supplier of contraband drugs, but he was found absconding. However, sincere efforts are being made to nab him and to ascertain the role of others in this racket as well as to recovery of contraband drugs.
DETAIL OF ACCUSED PERSON: • Kiran W/o Late Vinod Kumar R/o Aruna Nagar, Majnu Ka Tila, Delhi, age-40 years. (Previously found involved in a case FIR No. 16/19 u/s 376-D/366-A/354/354-B/506/120B IPC & 6/8/17 POSCO Act, PS Civil Lines).
Further investigation is going.
