SCHOOL STUDENT DIES IN ROAD ACCIDENT IN ZIRA

In a tragic incident, a school student belonging to Mansurwala Kalan village, died in a road accident near Pandori Khattrian village in Zira today. As per information, the incident took place today morning at around 9 am when few students were going to school in a private auto rickshaw.

As soon as the auto reached near Pandori Khattrian, the auto rickshaw driver lost the balance when another overspeed vehicle was coming from opposite direction. The auto rickshaw turned turtle during which two students identified as Harshkaran Singh (14) son of Gurpreet Singh, and Gurvinder Singh (14), son of Ravi both students of class 9th at Government High School in Pandori Khattrian village, got injured. Both the students were rushed to a nearest private hospital by the local residents from where both of them were referred to Guru Gobind Singh Government Medical College in Faridkot. While Harshkaran succumbed to injuries after reaching GGSGM Faridkot, the condition of Gurvinder is also said to be serious.

Kulbir Singh Zira, DCC President and Ex- MLA while expressing his grief over the incident, said that he had reached at the private hospital in Zira where these two students had got admitted for the first aid. “I come to know about the sad demise of Harshkaran which is very unfortunate”, said Kulbir adding that the state government must close all the schools during the foggy days to avoid such incidents. As per information, Harshkaran had lost his father earlier and he belonged to a very poor family.
