ELECTION COMMISSIONER REVIEWED REPORT OF SPECIAL SUMMARY REVISION

Shri Anup Chandra Pandey, the Hon’ble Election Commissioner of India, held a meeting with the Chief Electoral Officers of Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana at the Hyatt Regency today on his second day of visiting Chandigarh.

In the meeting, Shri Anup Chandra Pandey reviewed the report of the Special Summary Revision of 2023 that was held between the 8th of November, 2022, and the 9th of December, 2022.

Shri Pandey reviewed the report and discussed the important core points for improving the services related to the electoral process.He also discussed Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities and innovation to maximise the voting percentage and improve the voting gap.(SUBHEAD)

Shri Pandey discussed general election planning for 2024 and inquired about election requirements to ensure maximum voting participation.

During his visit, he visited Panjab University in the morning, where he delivered the annual J.C. Anand memorial lecture on the topic of “70 years of elections in India: experiences, issues, and challenges.” Shri Vijay N. Zade, Chief Electoral Officer, U.T., Chandigarh, was present during the lecture.
