CM’S VISIT DISAPPOINTING, GRANT FOR ABOHAR BUS STAND NOT RELEASED: SANDEEP JAKHAR

MLA Sandeep Jakhar said that 8 months back Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had assured in the Vidhan Sabha that a grant of about Rs. 3 crores will soon be released to complete construction work of the main bus stand but it was not done even on CM’s maiden visit here.

Speaking to the media in the presence of Municipal Corporation Mayor Vimal Thatai, the MLA said that the cycle of neglect of Abohar is getting longer day by day. The Commissioner of Municipal Corporation was transferred 8 months ago, permanent appointment in his place has not been done yet. This is affecting the development works. Government did not include Abohar in the announcement of making 4 Schools of Eminence in district Fazilka.(SUBHEAD)

Mr. Jakhar said that the Aam Aadmi Party had claimed that 8 more doctors have been sanctioned for Civil Hospital Abohar, but the names of only 4 doctors have come to the fore, they were appointed earlier and after completing their training, were told to take the charge. The govt. has announced to set up 400 new Aam Aadmi Clinics on Republic Day, these include 2 centers in Abohar which were already functioning but only their signboard is being changed.

The MLA said that the law-and-order situation in Abohar has almost collapsed in the past 6 months. Armed miscreants are openly carrying out incidents of snatching but the police are not able to control it. This situation is creating despair and fear for the people.

The emphasis of the previous government on the spread of education has yielded results, but the present government is following the policy of more publicity, less work. It is a matter of regret that local AAP leaders did not even talk about the development of Abohar on the arrival of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

“I led a deputation of farmers to meet the Superintending Engineer of the Irrigation Department about the schedule for cleaning the canals and said that after February 10, it should be ensured that canal water is provided. Despite the assurance of the officer, this demand does not seem to be implemented. Due to which the upcoming crops will be affected.
