Samples of 27 medicines made in Himachal reportedly have failed, which includes five samples of CSC cough syrup manufactured by Baddi-based Maiden Pharmaceuticals, which have failed in the monthly alert issued by the national level regulator Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO). The Unit was closed in the month of Feb. 2022
The names of this cough medicine are- LOCG21-85, LOCG21-94, LOCG21-95, LOCG21-84 and LOCG21-96 Deputy Drug Controller Manish Kapoor said that five samples of cough syrup found at Maiden Pharmaceuticals were taken after the World Health Organization (WHO) alert issued in October last year. .
Samples of these drugs were sent for testing for propylene glycol. The report confirmed that no harmful substances were found in these samples, but declared the samples substandard for several other reasons. Aa notice has been issued to the concerned company.
