Hundreds of people of all faiths and followings today evening assembled at Jakhar family’s Subhash Nagar residence to celebrate Lohri and Makar Sankranti festival. They greeted former MP and senior BJP leader Sunil Jakhar, who had spared his valuable time after a long time, for such celebrations. Also present were MLA Sandeep Jakhar, Mayor Vimal Thatai and senior BJP leader Dhanpat Siyag.
Earlier Sunil Jakhar was also welcomed on his arrival by BJP leaders Siyag and Vandana Sangwal who had contested election from the Balluana constituency.(SUBHEAD)
Speaking on the sidelines of the function, Sunil Jakhar said that the failure of the AAP government in Punjab was not surprising because other political parties had expressed such apprehensions last year. Now the situation is that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has failed to build his trust in the people, his grip on the administration is loose and this situation is not considered a good sign for democracy.
He said that the claim of fulfilling popular election promises has been limited to propaganda only. Sensible and conscious people of Punjab understand the reality which is clearly visible like a mirror. People have got a feeling that law and order is slipping out of the hands of the Aam Aadmi Party government.
The claims of destroying the drug trade are far from the truth. Even after ten months, the government failed to increase the financial resources. Health and education are considered the most important fields but it has not been possible to bring these services back on track. Govt employees have to stage dharnas and demonstrations almost each day.
