CHANDIGARH TRAFFIC POLICE ISSUED ADVISORY AND DECLARE VEHICLE FREE ZONES ON THE EVE OF NEW YEAR 2023.

The slogan of Chandigarh Police 'WE CARE FOR YOU' will not effective , if anybody found drunken and the police will be dealt them strictly.
In the interest of safety and security of the general public as well as peaceful celebration of New Year-2023, the following road stretches shall be “Restricted Vehicle Zone” on 31st December, 2022 from 10:00 PM till 2:00 AM:-
Inner Mkt road of Sector 7, 2. Inner Mkt road of Sector 8, Inner Mkt road of Sector 9. Inner Mkt road of Sector 10 (small chowk upto end of market Sector 10), Inner roads of Sector 17, Road infront of Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10, From Aroma Light Point to Small Chowk near Dispensary, Residents whose houses are accessed the above said road stretches, are requested to carry a valid identity card and residence proof in order to facilitate their movement.(SUBHEAD)
Further, traffic will be regulated in a One-Way System around Elante Mall, Industrial Area Phase 1.
• The general public is advised to park their vehicles in designated parking lots only and should not park vehicles on footpaths/cycle tracks and main roads. • Chandigarh Traffic Police will conduct a special drive against traffic violations in the city on the eve of New Year-2023 and strict legal action shall be taken against the violators and their driving licenses may be suspended.
• Those drinking liquor at public places, creating noise pollution through exhaust of vehicles and indulging in hooliganism shall be dealt with strictly. Special Drunken Driving Nakas will be set up at various places & surprise checks will be conducted for driving under influence of alcohol.
Chandigarh Police personnel will be regulating traffic and assisting the general public. Inconvenience caused to the general public on account of these restrictions is regretted. Chandigarh Traffic Police appeal to all to please cooperate with the police in larger public interest.
