Special Staff of East District has busted an interstate gang of drug peddlers that was active in Himachal Pradesh, Delhi NCR and Hyderabad. The team managed to recover 1.550 kg fine quality Charas from their possession.
Special Staff East Distt was tasked to bust and apprehend drug peddlers active in the area. A team led by Inspector Satendra Khari I/C Special Staff East District comprising SI Neeraj Kumar, ASIs Shailesh Kumar, Amar Pal, Rishi Pal, Mahesh and Ct Ravi Kumar under the supervision of Sh. Pankaj Arora ACP/Ops./East started gathering information about the people consuming costly drugs like Charas, Heroine, MDMA,etc as it was believed that well off people are consuming these drugs.
Their consumption increases in the Parties on the eve of New Year. The team started deploying decoys in various pubs and bars situated in East District where it was learnt that Charas is the drug which is mostly being consumed in these parties in a clandestine manner. The team started gathering information about the source of the drugs also. The hard and relentless work of the team bore fruits when roots of the menace were traced in Himachal Pradesh.(SUBHEAD)
The team developed sources in Himachal Pradesh and came to know that some persons were procuring Charas from Malana and Rasol which was being supplied in Delhi NCR and Hyderabad.
On 22.12.2022 ASI Shailesh Kumar received information that two persons hailing from Ferozabad, Uttar Pradesh were active in the peddling Charas in East Delhi, NCR and Hyderabad. The team swung into action and both the accused were apprehended from the parking area near Crown Plaza Hotel, Mayur Vihar Phase-1, Delhi. They were identified as Adi Verma aka Akki and Suraj Kushwaha. 1.25 kg high quality Charas was found in their possession. A case under relevant sections of NDPS was registered at PS Mayur Vihar Phase-1 , Delhi and investigation was taken up.
Adi Verma aka Akki disclosed that one of his associate Sonu was still in Kasol, Himachal Pradesh who would be procuring the contraband. Accused Adi Verma aka Akki was taken in police custody remand and raids were conducted at Kasol. Since alleged Sonu was not using mobile phone it became an arduous task to trace him. Hotel to Hotel verification was conducted and in one such Home Stay alleged Sonu was found and 300 grams Charas was recovered on his instance. He was arrested in the case and brought to Delhi.
Amrutha Guguloth, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police,, East Distt, said on interrogation accused Adi Verma aka Akki disclosed that his father was into illegal trade of drugs for which he had been arrested in Agra, UP. Now he has taken over his father’s trade. He had spread his area of operation to Delhi NCR and Hyderabad. It is he who leads this syndicate. He often takes new persons with him having less knowledge of drugs for which they are paid marginal amount of money.
Accused Suraj Kushwaha disclosed that he recently got acquainted with Adi Verma aka Aki. Since he was not earning much he got involved in this illegal trade. He disclosed that he was being paid marginal amount on every trip.
Accused Sonu disclosed that he along with Adi Verma aka Akki is a graduate but since he didn’t get employed he befriended Suraj Kushwaha and got involved in this illegal trade. He had earlier been arrested in a NDPS case in UP.
KNOW THE ACCUSED
Adi Verma @ Akki R/o Gali No 08, Near Jain Mandir, Nai Basti Firozabad UP age 21 Years has studied till 8th standard, is unemployed and has no previous involvement. Suraj Kushwaha R/o Mohall Laxmi Nagar, Gali No 02, Firozabad UP age 19 Years has studied till 10th standard and is currently unemployed. He has no previous criminal involvement, Sonu Tomar r/o Kalandri Vihar, Agra UP age 32 yrs is a graduate is also unemployed and has three cases under NDPS registered in U.P against him.
