Aam Aadmi Party President Prem Garg has severally criticized BJP and it’s Mayor for murder of democracy today and called it a black day for the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh. The mayor called the police besides the Marshalls in the house to expel the protesting councilors of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress. Not only the protesting councilors were thrown out by the police but also physically assaulted.
Even the female councilors were not spared. Taruna Mehta and Prem Lata, who were sitting on their respective seats peacefully, were forcibly removed from the house.
(SUBHEAD)It was *rarest of the rare occasion* that the Mayor didn’t allow the opposition councilors to re enter the house, because she knew that anti people agendas proposed by BJP ruled MC will not be allowed to be passed by the opposition today. Which included handing over the sweeping of 13 villages to the private agency and finishing jobs of more than 500 safari workers, handing over the paid parking lots of the parking contractor, who failed to deposit a whopping Rs. 6.76 crore in licence fees with MC.
Garg said that it’s a criminal nexus of officials with the paid parking contractor, who kept collecting parking fees without depositing the license fees.
Pardeep Chabbra co incharge of the party also criticized the man handing of party councilors and debarring the opposition councilors from participating in the proceedings of the house, in spite of the demand of councilors to allow them. Mayor ensured that anti people agendas are passed on her last day of the house.
