A complainant approached the Vigilance Unit alleging that a Sub-Inspector (SI) named Bharat at PS Prem Nagar demanded bribe to prepare a favorable bail report for a case involving the complainant's mother. The complainant paid an initial installment of ₹5,000 previously, which was audio-recorded. Threats were allegedly made to implicate the family in additional cases if the total payment (Rs 50,000) wasn't made.

Acting on the complaint, on the evening of 15.12.2025, the Vigilance Unit organized a trap operation at PS Prem Nagar. During the trap proceedings, the complainant went to the office of SI Bharat at the pre-arranged time and, upon demand, handed over ₹10,000 as the demanded bribe near the SI's chair at the Police Station.

Accordingly, FIR No. 25/25 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at PS Vigilance. The accused officer, SI Bharat Dahiya, has been arrested, produced before the court, and subsequently remanded to Judicial Custody.
