MOHALI COURT SENTENCED HEAD CONSTABLE TO 4 YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT AND FINE OF RS.20 THOUSANDS

Adopting Zero tolerance approach against corruption, Vigilance Bureau had nabbed red handed accused Head Constable Sukhwinder Singh of Mohali in a trap case. He was today convicted by Mohali court and sentenced to 4 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20000/- . 

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of Vigilance Bureau said that accused HC Sukhwinder Singh had demanded a bribe of Rs. 10000/- from the complainant to help him in granting bail. 

The above said matter was reported by the complainant to the Vigilance Department. Bribe of Rs.3000/- was given to the accused HC Sukhwinder Singh and his conversation was also recorded. Afterwards a trap was laid and raid was conducted and bribe money of Rs.3000/- was recovered from the possession of accused HC Sukhwinder Singh by VB team in the presence of Government officials/witnesses and had apprehended at the spot, he added.
