50TH STATE LEVEL SCIENCE MATHEMATICS AND ENVIRONMENT EXHIBITION FOR CHILDREN , ADVISOR DHARAM PAL INAUGURATES

The 50th State Level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for Children -2022 organized by SCERT, Chandigarh in collaboration with NCERT, New Delhi was inaugurated today by Sh. Dharam Pal, Advisor to the Administrator, Chandigarh at SCERT, Chandigarh.

Sh. Dharam Pal interacted with the students and appreciated the efforts put in by the students and teachers. He motivated the students to carry the zeal of innovation and experimentation so that they can contribute in the upliftment of society. He congratulated the students and teachers for displaying their innovative ideas through models.

Director SCERT, Dr. Surender Singh Dahiya announced that all the participants in this exhibition are prize winners as each model will get some prize money.

The Exhibition is held to popularize Science amongst children, teachers and general public. It is designed to inculcate the scientific temperament amongst children and to enable them to analyze their everyday experiences to understand the linkages between local and global issues.

The theme of this year Exhibition is ‘Technology and Toys’. 115 selected models of Chandigarh Schools are participating in the final level from 6th December to 8th December, 2022. The Exhibition will also showcase the 07 prize winning models of State Level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition for Children, 2021-22 which recently participated in 49th Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani held in Guwahati from 22nd to 26th November 2022.(SUBHEAD)

Under INSPIRE Awards – MANAK, 05 students who participated in the 9th National Level Exhibition and Project Competition held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 13th to 16th September 2022 will also display their projects.

State Level Exhibition of Posters and Models under National Population Education Project was also inaugurated by the Chief Guest. The prizewinning posters from Govt. schools of UT Chandigarh and the selected models on themes of Population Education are also at display in the exhibition.

The Prize Distribution Function will be held on 8th December, 2022 in which cash prizes amounting to Rs. 5100/-, Rs. 3100/-, Rs. 2100/- for first, second & third prize respectively. The exhibition will be open for visitors from 6th to 8th December, 2022 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

The other dignitaries present at the function were Ms. Purva Garg, IAS, Education Secretary, Sh. Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education and Sh. Amandeep Singh Bhatti, PCS, Director Higher Education.
