BSF TROOPS SHOT DOWN DRONE HEROIN WORTH 15 CRORES RECOVERED IN TARN TARAN

Border Security Force (BSF) troops deployed at border heard buzzing sound of a suspected drone entering from Pakistan into Indian territory into the area near Village – Kalia, in District – Tarn – Taran on Saturday at about 2246 hrs, . As per the laid down drill, troops tried to intercept the suspected flying object by firing. The whole area was immediately cordoned and Police & concerned sister agencies were informed. The contraband valued worth Rs. 15 crores in international market.

(MOREPIC2)(SUBHEAD)Further, during the subsequent thorough search of the area, the team of BSF and Punjab Police recovered a Quadcopter DJ Matrice (Gross wt – appx 7.2 Kg) lying in a broken state in the farming field near Vill – Kalia. During further search, three packets, suspected to be heroin (Gross wt – appx 3.068 kg) were also recovered.

Troops of BSF once again were able to capture a drone & seize heroin and thus foiled another smuggling attempt, added spokesman of BSF Punjab Frontier BsF HQ at Jalandhar.
