Following the directions of senior officers regarding zero tolerance on the Narcotic’s in the city, Operations Cell of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of Sh. Ketan Bansal IPS, SP/Operations succeeded in arresting one Drug peddler Raju Singh S/O Ramesh Singh R/O # 2526/1 Sector-49 C Chandigarh age 30 years.with commercial quantity of Heroin i.e 265 Grams.
(MOREPIC1) Police said, SI Ramesh Kumar 1641/CHG along with police party & Govt Vehicle were on patrolling in UT Area Chandigarh and reached near Sukhna Road Towards Village Kishangarh, they laid a naka on road near Street Light Pole Number 56 and started Checking of vehicle/ person which were coming from Village Kishangarh towards naka Point and during naka checking team succeeded in arresting accused Raju Singh S/O Ramesh Singh R/O # 2526/1 Sector-49 C Chandigarh from Road towards Sector-26 to Village Kishangarh (Back Side Sukhna Lake Road) and 265 Grams Heroin was recovered from his possession, hence the case FIR No. 153 Dated 25.11.2022 U/S 21 NDPS Act. P.S. – 26, UT Chandigarh was registered.(SUBHEAD)
During his interrogation he revealed that he used to bring the contraband from Delhi and further distribute and sell it in the area of Kajheri Hotels. He also disclosed that, for easy money he started narcotic dealings at larger level Recovery effected from Raju Singh Sr. No. Recovered item Quantity 1. Heroin 265 Grams Previous Criminal record of accused Raju Singh.
He has a tainted past, he was previously involved in 2 Cases, out of which one Case is of Excise Act in the year 2017 of PS Sambhu Punjab, Second case is of NDPS Act during the month of March2022, of PS Patli Kul, Himachal Pradesh.
Accused Raju Singh , a graduate and Taxi Driver. He was was produced in the court of Sh. Jaspreet Singh Minhas JMIC, UT CHD and gets his 03 day Police remand for further investigation.
