The sleuths belonging to Punjab police today carried out Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) led by SSP Ferozepur Kanwardeep Kaur at 16 crime and drug infected hotspots to nab the bad elements disturbing the social fabric of the society. The operation was carried out on the directions of Director General of Police, Punjab, under the supervision of IG Gautam Cheema.
While divulging details SSP Kanwardeep said that CASO was carried out at Basti Shekhan Wali, Basti Bhatia Wali in City area , Basti Tankan Wali, Gawal Toly in the cantonment area, Villages Mohan Ke Uttar, Chhanga Rai Uttar in Guruharsahai, Villages Nawa Qila and Dona Mattar in Lakho ke Behram, Village Jhoke Hari Har in Kulgarhi police station, Village Pojo ke in Mamdot, Ajit Nagar and Kotla in Talwandi Bhai, Village Khanna in Makhu, Mohalla Katya wala in Mallanwala and Basti Machian, Mohalla Samadhi Wala in Zira city area.(SUBHEAD)
She said during the operation, seven GOs, ten SHOs, 190 persons from various NGOs and 350 persons from EPOs were involved in this exercise. “Special Nakas were deployed around these locations and then systematic search was carried at these locations.
During CASO 122 gm Heroin, 100 Kg Lahan, 16.5 Bottles Illicit Liquor and 15 Bottles of country made Liquor is recovered by various team and nine accused have been arrested besides ten FIRs has been registered for respective recoveries. moreover, one Proclaimed Offender and one fugitive accused of snatching have also also been arrested”, said SSP Kanwardeep adding 19 suspected Motorcycles were impounded by different teams found to be without documents.
SSP Kanwar deep said that district police is fully prepared to eradicate Anti-Social Elements, criminals, drug smugglers and other bad elements. “People should contact local police for any kind of help without any hesitation and share all information about such bad elements to keep the society safe. In future more such operations will be carried and other required measures will be taken to counter bad elements”, said SSP.
