The Aam Aadmi Party had promised good governance but neither police nor the civil administration was taking any action against the activists who had been forcing Kinnow fruit traders to pay “goonda tax” here.
MLA Sandeep Jakhar today brought this matter to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner and has demanded a ban on this illegal recovery. He has given two days' time for this, if this recovery is not stopped, then the next strategy will be decided.
The MLA also showed several receipts of recovery at his press conference, one amount was also recovered through Paytm. He said that according to an estimate, Kinnow orchards cover 82 thousand acres in the district, out of which 82 lakh acres will be produced for which about 80 thousand pickups and other vehicles will be required, but if illegal recovery was being made ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 1100, the scam may finish with Rs 4 crore.(SUBHEAD)
Surprisingly the police or the civil administration has not taken any action against the erring people. He asked the local Aam Aadmi Party leaders to give their explanation as to on whose behest this money is being collected, in whose pocket this money is going.
He said that Kinnow growers are already paying a 2% market fee on the fruit, so why is this illegal recovery being done in the name of Shiv Shakti Pickup Union?
