FEROZEPUR SET TO HOST LANDMARK MILITARY & LITERARY FESTIVAL (FEHMILI) 2026

In a historic move to boost the economy, promote tourism, and showcase the glorious legacy of the Indian Armed Forces, the Military Literature Festival Association, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Golden Arrow Division and the Ferozepur Literati Association, is organizing the first-ever Ferozepur Heritage, Military and Literary Festival (FEHMILI) 2026.

The festival, scheduled for March 28 and 29, aims to transform the border city into a hub of military tourism, highlighting the heritage and military legacy of one of India’s oldest historical military garrisons while motivating the youth to join the Armed Forces.

(SUBHEAD)The formal journey toward the festival began today with a high-profile curtain-raiser at Dass & Brown World School, Ferozepur. The event was presided over by Major General Ranjeet Singh Manral, SM, VSM, GOC Golden Arrow Division, who officially launched the poster of this festival.

The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Mrs. Geetanjali Manral, Chairperson of the Golden Arrow Family Welfare Organization (FWO), and Dr. Anirudh Gupta, CEO of the DCM Group of Schools, alongside senior military officials.

“This event will go a long way in highlighting the valour, sacrifice, and commitment towards the Armed Forces,” stated Major General Manral. “At the same time, it will motivate the local youth drawn from schools and colleges to join the Armed Forces.”

The two-day event promises a wide range of activities for the public. According to Brig. Navdeep Mathur (Retd), the event convener, the festival will feature the Military Display: A showcase of military equipment and weapons at Sundar Singh Stadium, Engaging panel discussions and book exhibitions. Photography and painting exhibitions highlighting the region's history, Living Legends: Direct interaction sessions with gallantry award winners.

Dr. Anirudh Gupta expressed his gratitude to the Military Literature Festival Association, the Golden Arrow Division, and the District Administration for their wholehearted support in organizing this maiden festival. He noted that Ferozepur’s rich heritage as a historical military garrison will be the centerpiece of the event.
