A girl of B.A. first year reportedly committed suicide in the Government College for Girls (GCG) of Sector 42, here on Wednesday morning. The student was standing on the fourth floor of the college building. The security guard thought she could do something. The girl jumped as he ran after her. The girl was rushed to the hospital, but could not be saved. The initial investigation revealed that the girl was mentally weak, she was undergoing treatment.
As per information 19-year-old Ishita, a resident of Sector-39, was a BA first-year student at Government College for Girls (GCG). His mother works in Punjab Police. Ishita's mother said that she was suffering from mental stress and was also on medication. Narinder Pal, the gatekeeper of the college, was an eyewitness to all this incident. He even ran to save the girl, but by then she had jumped. At the same time, two college girls also saw this incident. Ishita has not left any suicide note.
At present, the police of Sector 36 police station has kept the body of the girl in Sector 16 Government Multi Specialty Hospital. Police investigating.
